Gwendoline Ruais was named the 2011 Miss World-Philippines during the pageant coronation night on Sunday, September 18, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila.
The 21-year-old from Muntinlupa City will represent the country in the upcoming Miss World 2011 pageant to be held on November 6 at the Earls Court Exhibition Center in London, England.
Ruais, who also won the best in swimsuit award, bested 24 other contestants. She will receive P 1-M peso cash prize, a GMA Artist Center management contract, and a condominum unit in the Sea Residences from SM Development Center.
Meanwhile, Helen Nicolette Henson and Martha Chloe McCulley were named 1st and 2nd princess, respectively.
Completing the top five are Ma. Paula Bianca Paz (3rd princess) and Jaysel Arrozal (4th princess). Paz also won the best in evening gown award.
