Besting 24 other candidates, Queneerich Rehman proved her beauty and intelligence as she was proclaimed Miss World Philippines 2012 during the Pageant Night held at the Manila Hotel Tent.
The Pageant Night was broadcast by TV5, the official media partner of the Miss World Philippines 2012 competition. The show was hosted by Edu Manzano and 1993 Miss World 2nd Princess Ruffa Gutierrez.
The 23-year old lass from Las Piñas City took home one million pesos cash, PhP 100,000 worth of Metro Dental services, a year’s supply of Manny O Wines, luggage from World Travellers and a Hyundai Eon.
Completing Rehman’s court were: Brenna Cassandra Gamboa as 4th Princess; April Love Jordan as 3nd Princess; Vanessa Claudine Ammann as 2nd Princess and Mary Anne Ross Misa as 1st Princess.
Special awards were given out to in the early part of the program, with Rehman herself bagging the Best in Swimwear Award. On the other hand, April Love Jordan was given the Best in Long Gown prize.
The judges for the evening’s competition were Baby Cruz, president and owner of Franch Provost; Ma. Fe Perez Agudo, President & CEO of Hyundai Asia Resource Inc; Becky Garcia, Founder and President of Dancesport Council of the Philippines; Melinda Reyes, President and CEO of Zenea; Consul Amelia Abalaza, Honorary Consulate of Guatemala in the Philippines; Clint Navales, External Relations Country Leader of Procter and Gamble Philippines and Emmanuel Ramon Lorenzana, Executive Vice President & Head of Wireless Communications Division of SMART Communications.
Rounding up the esteemed panel of judges were known photographer Raymund Isaac; Manila Hotel president Jose “Joey” Lina; UFL team Loyola Meralco Sparks’ James Younghusband; multi-awarded actress Lorna Tolentino; Aurora Representative Sonny Angara; Laguna Governor Jeorge Estregan Ejercito Jr.; Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla, Jr; and TV5 executive vice president and COO Roberto Barreiro.
Come August 16, Rehman will represent the Philippines in the Miss World Pageant which will be held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. TV5 will also be airing the pageant on national television.
