Synergy Production and Marketing Inc., the franchise holder of Miss Philippines Quest in the East Coast, in cooperation with One.10 Collection and Global Quest Inc., led by Miss World Philippines National Director Cory Quirino, crowned 18-year-old, five feet eight inches tall summer camp counselor Alexa Kirby as the first-ever Miss Philippines Quest winner at a coronation ceremony held at Symphony Space last July 12.
With Quirino sitting as Chair of the Board of Judges at the coronation ceremony, Miss Philippines Quest's top winner Kirby, who was also declared Best in Evening Gown, shared her recent triumph on stage with four other newly crowned beauty queens: First Princess, Best in Talent, and Best in Swimsuit Misook Mendoca; Second Princess Isabella Estella; Third Princess Jenica Balmes; and Fourth Princess and People's Choice Award Recipient Erin Manansala.
Kirby will represent the Filipino-American community in the 2014 Miss World Philippines pageant to be held in Manila, Philippines in November.
She has won a round-trip ticket to the Philippines, plus an allowance of one thousand dollars. She will also don a stunning evening gown, courtesy of One.10 Collection, during the Miss World Philippines competition.
During the dreaded Q&A, Kirby named young American actress-singer Demi Lovato, who has been vocal about her personal struggles, as one of the new beauty queen's personal women heroes: “She [Lovato] was able to overcome self-harm problems and is trying to help other people with similar problems to overcome it as well.”
Kirby, who recently graduated from Downington West High School in Pennsylvania, is a summer camp counselor at ACAC. She is not new to beauty pageants, having joined Miss Teen Pennsylvania USA and Miss Teen Philippines.
