On its sixth year as Miss World Philippines, the national pageant which produced the country’s very first Miss World Megan Young, presents this year’s roster of official candidates at Sampaguita Gardens, QC. Twenty-five hopefuls will vie for the title of Miss World Philippines 2016.
Recently, VIVA and CQGQ Inc. forged a partnership arrangement to organize and produce Miss World Philippines. National director Cory Quirino reassured the countless supporters of Miss World Philippines that the beauty pageant will be managed with as much dedication and passion as it was in the last five years- if not more.
Viva Chairman Vic Del Rosario expressed hope that the teamwork between the two companies will prove to be a resounding success.
Miss World is a member of the prestigious Miss World Organization which boasts of close to 120 participation. Considered as the most challenging of beauty pageant competitions, Miss World includes fast-track events which are not all present in other pageants such as Top Model, Beach Beauty Beauty with a Purpose (the best humanitarian project), Multimedia and Sports Challenge. The Philippines won Top Model in 2013 and Multi Media in 2015.
The Miss World Organization is headed by Mrs Julia Morley and through her leadership, the competition has expanded tremendously while inspired by her commitment to charitable causes for the betterment of women and children through “Beauty with a Purpose”.
This year, Miss World Philippines will stage its traditional Gala Charity Event dubbed “Beauty in Giving” on September 20, 2016, Tuesday, at the Enderun Tent with Enderun as co-presentor and Tuloy Street Children Village Foundation and PGH Medical Foundation as beneficiaries.
Miss World Philippines will be presented live from the Manila Hotel via GMA’s Sunday Night Box Office on October 9, 2016.
